Who we are

Bui is a voice assistant for the web page you are on, made of a Chrome extension, the website usebui.com and Bui's server. Questions about this policy or your data: buricodess@gmail.com.

When Bui collects anything

Bui only sends data when you talk or type to it, or when it carries on with something you asked it to do (finishing a task, answering after it looked something up). It does not watch or record pages in the background.

What Bui sends to answer you

The page you ask about: its address, title, text, structure and the values in its fields. Bui never reads password fields, card numbers, card security codes, one time codes or bank account numbers.

Your voice while you are talking to Bui, and the text of what you said. Recording only runs after you press the talk shortcut.

Your recent conversation with Bui, the pages you moved through while talking, what you pointed at, and the panels Bui made for you.

Other pages of the same site, which Bui may open in background tabs, using your signed in session on that site, to find the answer to your question. When the site does not say, Bui may run a web search for your question using only the site's name, never the full address.

Your device type (for example Mac or Windows), so Bui can tell you the right keyboard shortcuts.

What Bui stores

Your account: email, name and profile picture, from signing in.

Things you ask Bui to remember, with the page they came from, until you delete them. You can see and delete them in Bui's panel.

Background tasks you start and their results, how many questions you have used, and your plan and billing status.

On your own device, in the extension: your recent conversations with Bui, kept until you uninstall the extension.

Audio, screenshots and page content are processed to answer you and are not kept afterwards. Server logs record that a request happened, how long it took and whether it failed, not what you said or what was on the page.

Who processes it for us

Anthropic and OpenRouter (AI models that read your question, the page and screenshots to work out the answer or the next step).

ElevenLabs (turns your voice into text and Bui's answers into speech).

Clerk (sign in), Dodo Payments (billing, as merchant of record), Render (Bui's server), Neon (database) and Vercel (the website).

Each of them only receives what it needs for its part, and only to provide that service to Bui.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide creditworthiness or lending. We do not use it for anything other than answering you and running Bui.

Bui's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Actions Bui takes for you

When you ask, Bui can click, type and move around a site for you. It stops and asks before sending, posting, deleting or saving anything, and it does not make payments or change account security settings. You stay responsible for what you confirm.

Your choices and rights

Delete memories in Bui's panel at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it kept on your device.

To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and everything stored with it, email buricodess@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority. Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate.

Security

Everything is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS and secure websockets), stored with providers that encrypt data at rest, and only reachable by Bui's server with your signed in account.

Children

Bui is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date, and tell you in Bui or by email when the change matters.
